Okta 400 Error When Logging into BYUI

Overview

If you receive an "Okta 400 Bad Request" error message when attempting to log in, this typically means your BYUI and Church Accounts have not been linked.

Starting February 12, 2025, BYUI has started using church account login for all web-based systems. Because of this change, in order for users to be able to log in they will link to link their BYUI and church accounts. Once they have done that, they will be able to successfully log in.

If you do not have a church account, you can create a guest account. For steps on how to do that, please reference the following article on How to Create a Church Account for Accessing BYU-I Systems.
