What types of appointments does the BYU Idaho Student Health Center offer?
- We offer primary care, pharmacy, radiology, immunizations, a variety of physicals, and lab work. The physicals we offer include:
- Mission
- Nursing Student
- Graduate School
- Sports
- Travel Medication
- DOT (Department of Transportation)
- ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps)
How do I schedule an appointment?
- To schedule an appointment call (208) 496-9330 ext 1. A receptionist will then schedule you for an appointment with one of our providers.
Can I be seen at the Student Health Center?
- The Student Health Center can see current BYU-Idaho students, dependents of a full-time student, and deferred students. The Student Health Center cannot see online students or non-students unless they are a dependent.
What should I bring to the Student Health Center when arriving for an appointment?
- You should bring your insurance card and policy holder information (Name, address, Date of Birth), I-Card, any relevant paperwork, a list of current prescriptions, and relevant medical records.
Can the Student Health Center fill my prescriptions?
- Any medication prescribed at the Student Health Center can be filled within our pharmacy or with an outside pharmacy. Healthcare providers outside of the Health Center can send prescription orders and refills to our pharmacy while you are attending school on campus.
How do I pay for my appointment?
- The Student Health Center will bill your private health insurance. You are responsible to verify whether or not the student health center is in or out of your network. For any copays, deductibles, coinsurance, etc as deemed by your private insurance will be charged to your student account. Students with the Student Health Plan will be charged a $10 copay. We are not a Medicaid provider thus charges will be 100% the students responsibility.
What do I do if I have a charge from the Student Health Center on my account?
- Call the Student Health Center at 208-496-9330 ext 2 and they will let you know why you have the charge and what your options are regarding payment.
How do I pay with an HSA?
- If you want to pay for your appointment with an HSA (Health Savings Account), you will need to contact the Student Health Center at 208-496-9330 ext 2 to get a receipt. You will need to pay for the appointment using your student account, but if you send the receipt to your HSA, they should reimburse you.
Medical Records Request
How do I get my medical records?
- You can either call us at 208-496-9330 ext 1 or come in person to request your medical records. You will need to submit an online form and our office managers will prepare the records for you once we receive your request.
COVID-19
Can I get tested for COVID-19 at the Student Health Center?
- If you are experiencing symptoms which need medical attention, call 208-496-9330 to schedule an appointment with one of our providers. Students and Employees can receive a COVID test at Express Labs located at 859 S Hwy 191 #3202 Rexburg or an At-Home OTC Covid test can be obtained through the Student Health Center Pharmacy.

Tuberculosis
Do I need a TB test?
- All missionaries returning from a mission are encouraged to get a TB test upon returning from a mission regardless of where they have served. Students who have lived in or traveled outside of the United States need to have a TB test.
Where can I get a TB test?
- If you are located in Rexburg, you can get a TB test at the Student Health Center. We do TB tests Monday-Wednesday, and Friday. You can call us at 208-496-9330 to schedule a TB test. If you are not in Rexburg, you can get a TB test at any provider who offers them and send us your test results at healthcenterpublichealth@byui.edu.

I have an Insurance hold, what do I do?
- Call the Student Health Plan department at 208-496-9330 ext 2 and they will assist you.
I have a Student Health Center hold, what do I do?
- Call the Student Health Center at either 208-496-9353 or 208-496-9330 ext 4 and they will assist you.

How do I get my TB Hold removed? How do I get a Tuberculosis (TB) test?

You will need a Tuberculosis (TB) test in order to get your TB Hold removed. For information on TB Tests, see the Health Center Tuberculosis website

Walk-in TB testing is available.
- Once your test results are submitted, it can take up two business days for the hold to be removed.
- If you have submitted test results from an off-campus doctor and do not see the hold removed within two business days, please contact the Student Health Center at (208) 496-9330 ext 4.
