Print Using Web-Based User Portal

Body

Section 1 - Open/Access the User Portal

  1. In a web browser, go to https://print.byui.edu. Sign in if you are prompted.

  1. After signing in, you will be redirected to the BYU-Idaho Pharos Cloud Print “User Portal”.

Section 2 – Using the User Portal

2.1 Upload documents to the User Portal for printing

  1. On the User Portal main screen, click “Upload”

  1. When the dialog window opens, navigate to desired document, select it and click Open.

  1. Confirm it is the correct document, select the desired billing account (if available), then click Submit.

  1. Once uploaded, the file will appear in your list. The uploaded job will appear in your document list. Information including the print cost (points), billing account, page count, number of copies, and upload date will be displayed.

  1. Go to any BYU-Idaho Secure Print equipped with a card reader.
  2. Sign in using either your BYU-Idaho I-Card or your six-digit passcode

  1. Once logged in, you can choose to print all of your uploaded documents, or you can review your uploaded documents and select which jobs to print.

2.2 How to Delete a Print Job

  1. In the User Portal, hover over your document and click the “trash can” icon that appears to the left of the document name. Or alternatively you can check the box to the left of the document name, then click the Delete icon at the top right corner.

  1. Click OK to confirm, and the document will be deleted from your list.

2.3 What if I have multiple files uploaded but only want to print one?

At the printer, sign in and select Review Documents. You’ll see a list of your uploaded print jobs. Select only the document you want to print, making sure any other jobs remain unselected. When you’re ready, press Print and collect your document.

2.4 What if my print job is canceled due to insufficient points?

If you are getting this red message below, then it means that the job you uploaded exceeds the number of points currently available in your account. In the attached example, a document that costs 270 points is being uploaded when the user only has 240 points in their account, which leads to the job being canceled. To add additional points to your account, please contact the Accounting Office in Kimball 130.

NOTE: The points used feature indicates two things. The first is how many points you have used in your account, and the second is the number of total points you have added into the account. As you continue to print jobs, the first number will rise based on the cost of your print jobs, and as you add more points to your account, the second number will rise as well. This means that you may have to do some simple math to determine how many points you have. In this example, the user has 180 remaining points because they have used 60 of the total 240 points available.

Section 3 - How to Change or Select your billing account in the User Portal

NOTE: This only applies to users who have more options than just their Personal Account.
  1. Before uploading a document, verify that the correct Active Account is selected. Please note that you need to change it to your desired billing account BEFORE you upload a new print job. You CANNOT change the billing account for a print job at the printer.

  1. Once you click “Active Account” it will direct you to the window where it will show you all of the billing accounts you are connected to, whether it is your personal account, or other specific department accounts.
  2. You will notice the label (Current) indicates the account you are currently selected on. If you wish to change this, simply click another desired account and press “Apply”.

  1. Once you click apply it will take you back to the main screen and you will see your updated billing account on the top right and if you go to change it again you will see your newly selected account.

NOTE: Please keep in mind that you CANNOT change the billing account at the printer for a print job. If you get to the print station and realize it is on the wrong billing account, you will need to delete the print job, change the billing account, and reupload it on the correct account and then go to the printer to complete your print job.
