Help Recovering Church Account

If you are getting an "Unable to Sign In" Error when you try to log in using your church credentials, or you have forgotten your church credentials, please follow the steps below to recover your account.

1. On the church login page, click "I forgot my username or password" OR go to account.churchofjesuschrist.org/recovery

2. A new tab will open with the account recovery options. Select the one you have easiest access to and then enter your information.

Note: If a requestor's account is locked due to failed authentication attempts, they will not be able to recover their account with any of these options. They will either need to wait until it unlocks, or you can skip to the escalation section of this article.

  1. Membership Record Number (MRN)
    • Found on your temple recommend or in LDS Tools smartphone application
    • Available from your ward clerk
    • You'll receive a recovery code via email or text message, whichever you select
    Email Recovery
    • Use any email address previously verified with your Church Account
    • You'll receive a recovery code via email
  2. Mobile Phone Recovery
    • Use any phone number verified with your Church Account
    • You'll receive a recovery code via text message

3. Enter the code sent to your email or phone number then click "Continue."

4. You will then be provided with your username and asked to create a new password. Once you enter a new password, click "Set New Password."

5. You will then be taken to a page that says your password has been changed successfully. Click "Sign In" and log in with your new credentials.
