Important Update: BYU-Idaho is transitioning from BYU-Idaho login accounts to Church Accounts for all web-based systems.
Starting February 12, 2025, BYU-Idaho is transitioning from BYU-Idaho login accounts to Church Accounts for all web-based systems. To prepare for this transition, all students, employees, and system users must connect their existing BYU-Idaho account with their Church Account. The IT Service Desk is fully equipped to support users through this transition, including assistance with Church Account issues, password recovery, and account linking.
When is This Change Happening?
Starting Wednesday, February 12, 2025, you will need to use your Church Account to access BYU-Idaho web-based systems.
Why is This Change Happening?
This change is part of a larger initiative across all Church Educational System (CES) schools to enhance your experience:
- Improved account security
- Seamless access across CES schools and systems
- Enhanced account recovery options
- Simplified login process for multiple CES services
What Do You Need to Do?
You can prepare for the upcoming changes by connecting your existing BYU-Idaho account with your Church Account before February 12, 2025, when we turn-on Church Account login for BYU-Idaho. All users can begin connecting their accounts immediately.
What if I Don't Have a Church Account?
No problem! You can create one for free, even if you're not a member of the Church. Visit account.churchofjesuschrist.org to get started. If you would like step-by-step instructions you can go to our Creating a Church Account Help Guide for further assistance.
How to Connect Your Accounts
Connecting your Church and BYU-Idaho accounts only takes a few mins (2-3 on average). If any issues arise, call the IT Service Desk. To connect your BYU-Idaho account with your Church Account:
- Visit the Church Account Linking Page to get started
- Follow the steps on the page to connect your existing BYU-Idaho account to your Church Account
Important: If you complete this process while connected to campus WiFi or wired network, our systems will automatically link your Duo 2FA to your Church Account. If you're off-campus, you'll be prompted to connect your Duo/2FA account during the account connection process.
