How do I submit transfer credits from another college?
Can I fulfill the required religion credits with courses I took through the Institute?
-
Yes, depending on availability, you may choose to take your cornerstone religion classes at the Institute and have the credits transferred at the end of the semester.
All 2-credit Institute courses can be completed and transferred to BYU-Idaho for religion requirement credit or for elective credit. Students who have taken one-credit versions of Institute courses will need to complete both one-credit parts of a course in order to transfer credit.
Although an Institute course will transfer, if the equivalent course is not offered at BYU-Idaho, the credit will transfer as elective credit.
To earn Institute CES transfer credit, the course must be:
1. Taught by a teacher who has at least a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent
2. Be noted for credit on the official Institute CES transcript
3. Signed by an Institute representative
Note: Courses completed prior to 2009 will not be used as CES transfer credit.

- Log in to the student portal at byu pathway
- Open the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner
- Select "Transcripts" from the menu
- Select "Pathway Transcript Tool"
- Select "Request Official Transcript"
- Select which school(s) you would like to send your transcripts
If you have any issues, please refer to the BYU-Pathway Worldwide Contact Us page.
What is a W Grade?
- A "W" grade is recorded on your academic transcript when you withdraw from a course after the 22nd day into the semester (or after the 15th day in a block) up until the withdrawal deadline (roughly two-thirds of the way into the semester), for any reason. To see the exact dates of these deadlines in the current semester visit Academic Deadlines. Happy to help!
What happens if you retake a course but end up with a worse grade than the first time you took the course? What grade is kept, the lowest or highest?
- After retaking a course, the most current retake grade will take the place of the other grade when it comes to calculating your GPA (even if it's worse). So, if you get a C the first time you take a class and retake it and get a D, the D will replace the C.
