How do I get help from an Academic Advisor?

  • Our Advising Office can be reached by phone, live chat, email, or in person. Please contact us to get an appointment or walk into the office in the Manwaring Center Room 102 (across from the University Bookstore). See the Career and Academic Advising website for more information.

I'm a BYU-Pathway Online Student, how can I get Advising help?

I have a Plan For Success hold. How do I resolve it?

  • To resolve a Plan For Success hold (PFS), please meet with a Peer Success Coach by calling 208-496-1431 or stopping by their office in MC 127 during business hours.

Can I have an Advising appointment as a prospective student?

  • Yes. Our Advising office can help all student types, from prospective to currently enrolled to alumni. Because as a prospective student, you don't have access to your Grad Planner, you must contact Advising to schedule your appointment.
  • Concurrent/dual enrollment, alumni or non-matriculating, and prospective students can all schedule Advising appointments by contacting the Advising office. 

Can parents schedule appointments on behalf of students?

  • No, they cannot, but they can participate in the appointment if they would like.

How do I cancel my advising appointment?

  • You can cancel your appointment by calling (208) 496-1411. You can also contact us so we can help you cancel your appointment!

 How do I apply for the Social Work Program?

  • You can go to the Social Work Application Process page to apply for the Social Work program and see the pre-requisites. If you have anymore questions, you can call the Social Work department at (208) 496-4151 or email the office assistant, Karri Tingey, at tingeyk@byui.edu.

Can concurrent enrollment students access grad planner?

  • As a concurrent enrollment student, you won't have access to Grad Planner but you can still meet with an Advisor for help with class planning. Reach out to the College of Language & Letters Advising at (208) 496-9860 or clladvising@byui.edu.

When Does the Economics Lab Start This Semester?

I heard from my instructor that as a student of BYU-I, we have access to Google Scholar for free. Is this correct, and how do I get access to it?

  • You are able to access Google Scholar for free no matter who you are, but some of the articles may require you to pay for memberships with that company. The school provides free access to many different databases on the McKay Library Database List. So, if you find an article you would like to read on Google Scholar, you can see if we provide free access to the specific database that is supplying that article and search for it there.

 I have one on one appointments set up with my teachers but I don't have a clue how to get zoom appointments started. Please help!!
