Travel to China

I’m traveling to China this summer and was wondering if there are any access issues I should anticipate. I’m planning to use a VPN, but I wanted to check whether there’s anything else I should be aware of. I would hate to be without access to my students and class for a couple of weeks.

If you don't have Duo Mobile set up for your Two-Factor Authentication method, you may run into issues with international network. If you need help setting it up, you can refer to this help guide: https://td.byui.edu/TDClient/79/ITHelpCenter/KB/ArticleDet?ID=12408#adding, or call us at (208)-496-9009.

Otherwise, as long as you have a secure internet connection that will allow you to access the employee VPN (GlobalProtect), you should be all set. It would be a good idea to make sure that GlobalProtect is up to date. You can follow the steps here to update the software: https://td.byui.edu/TDClient/79/ITHelpCenter/KB/ArticleDet?ID=11722#S2.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach back out. I'd be happy to answer any additional questions you may have.
