If you need help scanning a document to your computer, please see this help guide.
This article is intended to help with the process of printing documents under the new system. For help navigating the new printing system, read this article.
With the new printing system, you have the option to either direct print to your desired printer, or upload your document to the cloud to print to a print release station. Below explains the difference between the two options:
- Direct Print: You select the specific printer that your document will print from. When you click "print" on your computer, your document is printed automatically.
- Print Release: You upload your document to the cloud, then find any print release station on campus to release the print job.
Printing Documents
Direct Printing
If you wish to print directly to a standard printer, follow these steps:
1. Open your document in your desired software and locate the Print button.
2. Select the desired printer from your print menu, and click Print (your printer should always start with BYUI).

| Your printer will not show up here if it is not connected through Pharos. To connect your printer, read this article and locate the section "How to Add a Printer for Direct Print". |
3. You will get a notification when your item has been printed. The notification will also show you what account was charged for the print.

| In the Pharos Cloud system, "Points" are how much the print costs. Each point is equivalent to 1¢. Click here for instructions on how to add funds to your account. |
Using Print Release Stations
To use the print release stations:
1. Navigate to the document you wish to print and set up the print settings how you would like it to be printed
2. In the "Printer" section of print settings, select Pharos Secure Printer.

3. Once you have made sure the settings are accurate, select Print.
- You will be able to see your documents currently in the secure print queue by opening Pharos Print and looking at the document list. If the document doesn't appear immediately, refresh the list.

4. Go to the printer you would like to use and log in
- You can either swipe your I-Card or use your 6-digit login PIN by selecting Keyboard Sign In

5. Verify that the document is being billed to the correct account. If you need to change the billing department, you will need to re-upload the document. The billing account for print jobs can be changed at the printer by selecting your name, or the name of the cost center highlighted in the image below.

6. To print all documents in the queue, select Print All

7. To select and print a specific document from your queue, click Review Documents. Select the file(s) you wish to print, and click Print
