Clearing Cache & Cookies

If you are experiencing:

  • Sluggish web applications
  • Abnormally long loading times
  • An error/ something isn't loading correctly in your web browser

Then you may need to clear your cache and cookies. Listed below are links to how to do this depending on the browser you are using

 

Google Chrome (Recommended Browser)

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2.  At the top right, click the 3 dots.
    • (This icon might look different if there are active extensions)
  3. Click Delete browsing data.
  4. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
  5. Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
  6. Click Delete data.

 

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the menu button and select Settings.
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel.
  3. Scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section, and click Clear Data….
  4. Check-mark "Cookies and Site Data" and "Cached Web Content".
  5. With both check-marked, click the Clear button.
  6. Close the about: preferences page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.

Cache and cookies can also be deleted through browsing history doing the following

  1. Click the menu button  and select Settings.
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel.
  3. In the History section, click "Clear History…".
  4. Change the time range to "Everything".
  5. Cache and Cookies options must be check-marked in the list.
    • (Browsing & Download History, Active Logins and Form & Search History may also be check-marked to clear)
  6. Click "OK".

Safari on Mac

Clear Cookies

  1. In the Safari app  on your Mac, choose Safari > Settings, then click Privacy.

  2. Click Manage Website Data.

  3. Select one or more websites, then click Remove or Remove All.

Clear History

  1. In the Safari app  on your Mac, choose History > Clear History, then click the pop-up menu.

  2. Choose how far back you want your browsing history cleared.

Microsoft Edge

1. Open Microsoft Edge and go to Settings and more ()Settings  > Search "cache" in the search bar

2. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear.

3. Select the Cookies and saved website data check-box and then click Clear.

Safari on iOS

  1. Open Settings on the iOS device (iPhone, iPad) then select Safari
  2. Tap Clear History and Website Data.
  3. At the warning pop up, tap Clear History and Data to confirm.

Chrome on Android and iOS 

  1. On the Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. At the top right or bottom (depending on device), tap More More.
  3. Tap History > Clear browsing data.
  4. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
  5. Next to "Cookies and site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
  6. Tap Clear data.
