As an alumni, you will be the recipient of numerous alumni benefits. These can be explored here at the BYUI Alumni Benefit Page. However, many of the accesses you now enjoy as a student will be changed or revoked. Following is a list of accesses you will have as an alumni.
Access to BYU-Idaho email accounts for alumni is subject to change. BYU-Idaho is actively reviewing policies regarding long-term email availability for those who are no longer actively enrolled. We recommend that alumni regularly back up any important information or messages from their BYU-Idaho email accounts, as future access is not guaranteed. Further updates will be communicated as decisions are finalized. As for now, email access will not be restricted. If you need to export any of your emails, you can follow this Microsoft guide.
Updating a Personal Email Address
Because your BYUI email access could be changed at any time, we recommend that you make sure you have an updated personal email address associated with your BYUI account so that you can continue to receive important notices. To change your personal email, follow these steps:
1. In the myBYUI portal, click on your profile picture in the upper right hand corner, and then "View Profile"

2. In the box titled "Private Information", click on "Edit Personal Information"

3. Click "Change" under "Personal Email"

Alumni do not have access to Office 365 apps. If you have previously purchased a product key for the standalone Office suite, you will maintain access as long as you have your product key, as that isn't tied to your student account.
Alumni do not have access to OneDrive or any of the files stored there as a student after graduation. Please take the time to back up any and all files you may want to keep. Here is a YouTube Video about how to save all your files from OneDrive.
| You will only have until the final grades are posted for the semester you graduate to retrieve or back up any files you wish to keep. |
Google's G-Suite is under a similar license to OneDrive, meaning that after you graduate, you will lose access to all files associated with your account stored on Google's cloud. Follow this Google guide on how to download all your G-Suite data.
NOTE: We recommend you set up a free Microsoft and/or Google account. Here's how they compare:

Alumni no longer have access to BYU-Idaho WiFi or computers. You are still welcome to use the BYUI-Visitor WiFi.
Alumni will not be able to access the main myBYUI Portal page. Many programs or websites you would access through the portal can be accessed through direct links.
As an alumni, you will retain access to Canvas for as long as your account is active. You can access Canvas at this link: https://byui.instructure.com/
Adobe access is always removed at the end of the semester. If you have more Adobe classes, you will be added again at the start of that semester. Alumni do not have access to any Adobe applications. This includes any files that were created and uploaded to the Adobe Creative Cloud using your BYUI account. If you have any files on the BYUI Adobe Creative Cloud, they will need to be downloaded before you lose access.
