Changes Coming to BYU-Idaho Sign-in Accounts
To upgrade access account systems and increase account security, BYU-Idaho is changing the online login from a BYU-Idaho account to a Church Account. Anyone with a BYU-Idaho account (employees, students, guests, etc.) trying to access BYU-Idaho web-based systems will be affected by this change. Starting Wednesday, February 12, 2025, you must use your Church Account to access BYU-Idaho web-based systems.
What You Need to Do if You Do Not Have a Church Account
You must connect your BYU-Idaho account to your Church Account to maintain access. This should be a Church Account connected to your membership information. This is commonly the same account used to pay tithes and offerings. If you are not a member of the Church, you can set up a non-member account for free at churchofjesuschrist.org. Once at that page you will want to go to the Sign In box in the right corner of the screen and click on the "Create Account" option.
Once you select the "Create Account" Option you will be taken to a page where you will be able to begin the process of creating your account. Please start by adding in your location. This will typically be the country that you reside in. After selecting the correct location, you can proceed to the next step.
You will now be able to create your account user name and password. Please keep in mind that you may be rerouted back to this step at the end of this process if your account contains any common words and/or names.
Once you have created your user name and password you will be taken to a page where you will be asked for your Membership Record Number, or MRN. If you are not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, then you will skip this step. At the bottom of that page there is a check box stating "I am NOT a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." that you will need to select to move on from this step.
You will now be able to add the rest of your account information. Please add your first and last name in the way that they appear on your current BYU-I account. You will also need to add an age range and add your email to the Recovery and Communication Options. This will assist you in recovering your account information should you ever need to reset your account information, so make sure it is an email address that you will be able to retain access to throughout the duration of your education at BYU-I. You will also use this email shortly to authenticate your account. Agree to the Terms of Use and create your account.
Once you click on the "Create Account" you will be sent an authentication code to the email address that you previously added to your account. Once you enter in that code you will be able to verify your account and enter into your new Church account.
