Appointments

  • You will need to call in to schedule an appointment by phone at 208-496-9370 or stop by in-person.

  • Appointments with a counselor are FREE as long as you have an assigned track, you are taking at least 6 credits, and you are living in the state of Idaho.

FAQ

What services do they offer?

Is there assigned parking for when I visit the Counseling Center?

  • Park in the parking spaces in front of the Student Health Center along the sidewalk. Signs will read "Reserved for Student Health Care Patients." Be aware this is only for the time you are attending an appointment. You may not park here and go to class before/after the appointment.
    • If you are unable to park in one of these spots, temporary passes are available at the reception desk.

Do Online Students qualify for counseling from the school? 

  • Online Students can only get counseling services from the school if they are matriculating towards a degree (assigned to a track), are taking at least 6 credits, and living in the state of Idaho. If their track assignment is "online" they are not eligible. 

Is there counseling for couples?

  • Yes! In order to be eligible for these service, one member of the couple must be a matriculated student that is registered for a minimum of six credits

I'm an ecclesiastical leader. Can I get help from this office?

Are the services confidential?

  • Counseling services are confidential and are not part of students' academic records.

 Are there any counseling options available?

  • The mental health of students at BYU-Idaho is a top priority. The school has enlisted the many resources available for students from private counseling, anxiety and stress management workshops, to accessibility services. For more information on these resources. please see Counseling Center.

Suicide Prevention Hotlines 

  • The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 24 hours a day to speak with someone live at 800-273-8255.
