Tour / Welcome Center Questions

This article goes over the different kind of tours offered at BYU-Idaho, and gives instructions on how to schedule them.

BYU-I Welcome Center 

The Welcome Center is the starting point for all prospective/admitted student tours, and high school visits. 

• The Welcome Center provides high school students with absence excuse forms upon request when they come for a campus tour. 

Office Info 

• Phone: (208) 496-1314 

• Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Closed on Tuesday & Thursday 11:30am -12:30pm 

Campus Tours 

• Despite online booking saying there is a 50-person limit, there is no limit to how many people can attend a tour. 

• Visitors coming for tours can park in a visitor stall or request a free visitor parking pass from 💻Parking Services. 

• Tours are not offered on Saturdays, Sundays or Federal Holidays. 

Prospective Student - Admissions Office  

• Meet in the Manwaring Center.  

• Admissions gives tours year-round (including summer break, excluding weekends and holidays). 

• To schedule prospective student tours, fill out the tour request form at 💻Campus Tours. 

  • Contact the Welcome Center 208-496-1314 to schedule same day tours (if within 18 hours) 

• You will receive a confirmation email after scheduling an appointment. 

• Tours are available Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., except on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. 

• To switch from virtual tour to in-person tour contact the Welcome Center 208-496-1314.

• To reschedule an appointment for a campus tour, contact the Welcome Center 208-496-1314. 

• To cancel a tour, contact the Welcome Center 208-496-1314. 

Self-Guided Tours - Admissions Office 

• You can stop by the admissions office to receive a map of the campus for a self-guided tour. You do not need to book in advance.  

  • Contact Admissions (208) 496-1300 for information on where to find maps on the website, etc.  

Newly Admitted Students - Admissions Office. 

• To request a tour, go to the 💻 Campus Tours. 

• For questions regarding Campus Tours contact The Welcome Center (208) 496-1314 or email admissionsoutreach@byui.edu 

Guest, Public, or VIP tours - University Relations 

• Location determined by University Relations during the scheduling process. 

• Tours are available Monday-Friday from 8 am - 5 pm.  

• Scheduled in advance through University Relations at (208) 496-3125 or campustours@byui.edu.  

Department Tours 

• Some Departments give tours, you can call the department themselves to inquire about tours. 

How do I sign up for a BYU-Idaho-sponsored tour?

• Schedule a tour here: https://www.byui.edu/campus-tours/

• All tours start from the Welcome Center in the MC.

• This is done through the Welcome Center. Call  (208) 496-1314 to  ask campus tour related  questions.

• Info can be found on the 💻 Campus Tours website 

• All other non-registration tour questions should be escalated to the tour organizer.

Virtual Tours 

• For virtual tours registered on 💻Campus Tour, you will receive an email from Admissions with a Zoom link and instructions. 

• To sign up for a virtual tour, see💻Virtual Tour . 

  • You must click on the "Virtual Campus Tour" title. Then click on any building below "Continue Your Virtual Tour".
