Unofficial Transcript

What is an Unofficial Transcript? An unofficial transcript shows your academic history, but it doesn't include degree information. This can be used for personal reference or for some applications where a degree isn’t required.

How to View and Print Your Unofficial Transcript:

  1. Log in to your MyBYUI account.
  2. Select the Resources tab.
  3. On the left, click show more then click the Unofficial Transcript option.
  4. Use the PDF option to download and print.

Note: Degree information will not appear on unofficial transcripts.

Official Transcript

What is an Official Transcript? An official transcript is an official record of your academic history and includes your degree information. It's typically needed for transfers, job applications, and other official purposes.

How to Request Your Official Transcript:

  1. Log in to your MyBYUI account.
  2. Go to the Academic tab.
  3. Click show more until you find the Transcript Request tab.
  4. If additional documents are needed, select Choose File to upload them.
  5. Some forms may require a signature from Student Records & Registration, which you can email to transcripts@byui.edu

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m applying for multiple CES schools. Do I need to send multiple transcripts?
  • No, you only need to send your transcript once, and it will be shared within the CES system. However, you must submit a separate application for each school.
I’m a former student wanting to reapply to BYU-Idaho. Do I need to resend my transcripts?
  • No, your transcripts should already be on file with Admissions. If they do not show as received, you can contact Admissions at (208) 496-1300.
Can I send my transcript if it is unopened?
  • Yes, if you are an applicant you can send an unopened official transcript from another institution. As long as the transcript remains sealed in the official envelope, it can be accepted. Send it to the address listed below:
