Body
This guide includes steps for starting a zoom meeting from your browser or in the zoom app. If you are able to download and use the zoom app, that is the recommended option. If you are unable to because your computer is older, you don't have enough computer storage for the zoom app to run, or the application isn't working properly, you can also join from your browser.
Before starting a zoom meeting, make sure you have signed into Zoom properly using your BYUI account. Instructions on how to sign into Zoom through BYUI can be found in this article. |
Starting a Meeting from the Zoom App
Using the app is the preferred way to start a Zoom meeting if you are able to run it on your computer.
1. Open the Zoom app and click "New meeting"
2. Click "Join with computer audio"
3. If you need to leave the meeting, you need to take caution because there are two options. You can either let the meeting continue and just press "Leave Meeting" or you can end the meeting for everyone by pressing "End Meeting For All."
Starting a Meeting from your Browser
If you are having issues with using the app on your computer, you can also start a zoom meeting from your browser.
1. Go to https://byui.zoom.us/ and click "Start a meeting".
2. If you have not logged in yet, an authentication window will pop up. Log in using your BYU-I credentials.
Note: If you see a zoom login page instead of a BYUI login page, use this guide to help you log in with your BYUI account
3. Click "Cancel" at the top, then "Join from Your Browser" at the bottom.
4. Click "Join Audio by Computer"
5. If you need to leave the meeting, you need to take caution because there are two options. You can either let the meeting continue and just press "Leave Meeting" or you can end the meeting for everyone by pressing "End Meeting For All."
