The application no longer asks for ACT/SAT scores, but we encourage you to take it.😊🙌 They are still used for merit scholarships and class placement.

How do I know if BYU-I has received my ACT/SAT score?  

  • Contact Admissions at (208) 496-1300. 

How long does it take to process ACT/SAT scores? 

  • It typically takes 2-3 weeks to process after the ACT/SAT sends us the scores. 

Do I have to submit an ACT/SAT score to apply?

How do I have my ACT/SAT scores sent to BYU-I?

  • List BYU-I as a score recipient when applying for the test; scores will be sent automatically within 2-3 weeks. Submit results before the application deadline. Alternatively, email screenshots with your score, test date, and full name to transcriptsubmit@byui.edu.
  • High school transcript scores are accepted; contact the Admissions Office at (208) 496-1300 if needed.

What are the BYU-I school codes for the ACT and SAT?

  • ACT: 0926
  • SAT: 4657

What if I need to have an ACT/SAT score to register for a class but I have not been able to take the tests?

  • Certain classes have an ACT/SAT pre-requisite such as MAT108X, ENG150, etc. See other options to fulfill these pre-requisites on our Academic Placement and Transition site.
What is an ACT Super Score? Does BYU-I consider this type of score?
  • We currently DO NOT accept super scores (for any type of test, including English Proficiency exams).

What is the deadline to send in my scores?

Does an ACT/SAT score expire?

  • ACT/SAT scores do not expire. Scores are saved on the application and BYU-I student account.  
How do I register for the ACT/SAT?

Is the ACT or the SAT better?

  • The ACT and SAT are weighted equally for class placement and scholarships.

Is the written portion of the SAT/ACT required?

  • No, the written portion is not required.

How do I check my ACT/SAT scores?

  • Go to my.byui.edu and click on the "Academic" tab under "Tools" on the left side. Click on "Academic Summary" and this should take you to the student page. Click on "Academic History" on the left side of the screen, and then "Exam Scores." You should be able to view your ACT/SAT scores from here. 

Would a P-SAT or P-ACT satisfy the ACT/SAT requirement?

  • No, we do not accept the P-SAT or P-ACT.

What if I am a freshman who has never taken a course at BYU-Idaho and send screenshots of my ACT score? Will it be accepted?

  • Yes, but we will require that your name and the date that you took the test be on the screenshot as well.
